-
Esnure you are currently logged in: To download courseware content, you must be logged into the Cyber Range. -
Check your browser settings and configuration: If you are experiencing issues downloading content from the courseware repository and have already checked that you have an instructor account and are currently logged in, then you may need to ensure that any installed browser extensions or plugins are not interfering with your ability to download content. Unable to Open Downloaded Courseware Content?¶
If you experience issues opening downloaded courseware content, below are a few troubleshooting methods for common errors that may help resolve the issue.
-
Error: Path too long: If you receive an error message stating that you are unable to open downloaded courseware content because the file path is too long, you may need to open the zip file with a tool other than the default program. This error occurs because File Explorer on Windows operating systems only allows a limited number of characters in the file path. While our team has only seen this error with Windows File Explorer, the tool 7Zip can be used as an alternative and should resolve any issues with unzipping compressed files with excessively long file names or nested file structures. For more information about using 7Zip as an alternative solution, please navigate to www.7-zip.org.
-
Error: Unable to complete extraction: If you receive an error stating that your chosen zip utility failed to extract the contents or files, please ensure that you are not attempting to open a file that is meant for a specific operating system (e.g. .tar or .gz for Linux) or has not been fully downloaded. Incomplete downloads will not open correctly and will present you with an error stating that Windows can not complete the extraction.
If you believe there is a problem with content downloaded from the courseware repository, please reach out to our support team for further assistance.
